WEDDING CAKE SERVICE
Every wedding cake I create is important to me and special to you

I pride myself on a first class, friendly service to help your day run smoothly; therefore I do limit the amount of wedding cakes I create to give quality time to your order.
More and more brides are ordering their wedding cake well in advance; therefore at least 6 months’ notice is advisable, especially for cakes required between April & September- the busy wedding months.
Wedding cakes with less notice can sometimes be accommodated depending on my work schedule.

Consultations
Once you have your Wedding date and Venue confirmed it would be lovely to meet you in my studio. Consultations are by appointment only and are booked in maximum 2 hour slots so please allow 1 hour minimum to discuss your requirements, which includes a tasting session of 4 of my most popular cake flavours

Couples are invited to visit on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings from 6pm onwards or Saturdays depending on wedding cake deliveries.
Sunday appointments are reserved for couples who have reserved their wedding date with a £50 non-refundable deposit which is deducted from the price of their cake when their order is placed.

If you would like to visit, a £20 payment will be required which will be deducted from the price of your Wedding Cake if you wish to place an order.
This fee covers a one hour consultation and 4 finger portions of cake for each of the bridal couple
If you would like an idea of my prices before visiting just let me know and I will be happy to help
Please contact me

I specialise in iced and chocolate covered wedding cakes, being ganache or buttercream filled sponge or rich fruit, so I no longer take orders for  Naked, Semi-naked and Buttercream covered cakes due to spoilage

As my consultation room is also a working environment I cannot accept responsibility for injury to children, so would please ask clients to ensure children are kept safe and under control whilst visiting.

You may like to consider the following aspects regarding your wedding cake before visiting, but if you are unsure about your design, that’s fine, I have plenty of pictures for you to look through for inspiration

Design and style of your wedding cake
Classic, romantic, humorous, quirky- the choice really is yours.
My bespoke wedding cake service is also very popular at no extra cost, or any of the wedding cakes on my website can be made in the colour of your choice.

Cake Shape
Round, square, heart, hexagon or wonky - to name a few, or maybe a tower of cupcakes or individually iced cakes.
Cake Set Up
A traditional cake set up on pillars, a contemporary style with a cake frame or separators in-between the cake layers, or you can opt for an American style stacked cake.
Alternatively, how about a yummy chocolate wedding cake, which can be set up in a number of ways and decorated with handcrafted chocolate decoration or fresh berries and served as a pudding.

Special Personal Aspects
Touches of your reception colours added to the design can complete the look you are aiming for, or are you considering handcrafted bespoke sugar models, or maybe a family heirloom placed within your design.
Fresh Flowers
If you are considering fresh flowers for your wedding cake, I will be happy to set it up at the venue for your florist to finish the decoration side of things
Important note: please be aware that some flowers are not suitable as a decoration for wedding cakes, due to toxins or moisture which can damage the cake icing, so it is always best to check with your florist.
The Cake Fairy cannot be liable for any damage or contamination to your Wedding Cake caused by fresh flower decoration by your florist.
Flavours
A tasting session for you and your partner will give a good guide to my cakes.
The Cake Fairy makes a variety of flavours, the most popular being-
Rich fruit cake laced with alcohol.
Luxury chocolate cake, layered with a luscious ganache filling.
Moist lemon sponge, a light tangy sponge with a choice of fillings.

Allergies & Special Dietary requirements
Dairy

Wedding Cakes requiring a dairy free butter substitute can be accommodated
Nuts, Wheat, Eggs
Unfortunately we do not supply nut free, wheat free or egg free wedding cakes.
As all our wedding cakes are prepared in an environment where nuts are used, they cannot be guaranteed to be nut free, therefore they would not be suitable for anyone with a serious nut allergy.

Portions and Prices
The size of cake you will need depends on your chosen design and the number of guests you have.
Please look at Portions & Prices section for a guide.

False tiers can give extra height if required.
Cutting Cakes
These cakes are very useful if there are not quite enough portions in your chosen design.
Cutting cakes can only be supplied with ordered wedding cakes.

Late wedding cake orders
The Cake Fairy may be able to accommodate last minute wedding cakes depending on orders being processed; however orders placed within 6 weeks of the wedding date will require full payment on ordering.
Consultations for last minute orders cannot be guaranteed due to the timescales involved.
Cake samples can be sent on payment of order, dependent on time before wedding.

Hire
I have a number of stands that I hire out with my cakes, but it is always worthwhile checking with your venue to see if they can supply the base stand and knife within your package.

Bookings and payment
Having made your visit to The Cake Fairy, a written quotation will be sent, and your wedding date and quote will be held for 7 days if you wish to place an order.
A 20% non-refundable deposit will be required to reserve your date.
OR
If you like what you see and would like me to create your wedding cake, but are undecided on the design, a £50 (non-returnable) deposit will ensure that I reserve your date until confirmation of your design.
Please note: your date can only be reserved on receipt of a deposit
The balance is due 1 month prior to delivery or collection- Please see
  Terms and Conditions
Cheques are payable to ''The Cake Fairy'' or bank transfer details can be found on your invoice.
Wedding cakes cannot be released for delivery or collection until full payment for wedding cake and delivery is received and cleared.
Due to your wedding day being a very busy time for both myself and the Bride & Groom, The Cake Fairy cannot take 'cash on delivery' on the day.

Delivery
I would be delighted to deliver and set-up your wedding cake.
Certain venue deliveries are free of charge depending on the distance from my studio.
Minimum delivery charge is £20 and 85p per mile round trip within a 20 mile radius of my studio, and outside of London; this includes set-up of your cake.
For delivery of wedding cakes further afield and in the London area there will be an extra charge, please ask for details.
I will liaise with your venue to sort out a suitable time for delivery, so as to ensure your cake is displayed as you want it.
For locations further away which involves delivery by yourself, I can give written instructions for set-up and display which can be handed over to the venue staff.
